31 OAKS PROJECT, 2014-15 Stainless Steel Variable
A landscape installation of large leaves representing the 31 oaks of Georgia. The oversized stainless steel leaves (approx.3’-8’tall) will be used as an educational tool enticing viewers into a landscape experience; blending public art, landscape design, and education. Plantings of each species of oak will be in proximity of the coinciding leaf sculpture. The leaf sculptures will each gesture differently, reflect light, and appear to “dance” in the landscape.
